It aims to promote educational exchanges and cooperation among countries along the B&R, striving to build an international academic dialogue platform and establish a mechanism for communication among international educational research institutions.

More than 70 foreign representatives from about 60 countries (regions) along the B&R, guest nations and some international organizations, as well as more than 200 representatives from the MoE of China, local governments, relevant universities, research institutions and primary and secondary schools attended the conference. Conference participants engaged in dialogues on research, policy-making and cooperation, reform, innovation and development, strategic methods and processes, as well as history, past and future. They conducted group discussions on 6 themes: “21st Century Literacy and Curriculum Innovation” “Student Mobility and Cross-Border Education” “The Future of Higher Education and Academic Mobility” “The Fourth Industrial Revolution and Future Schools” “Entrepreneurship Education and Youth Employment” and “Early Childhood Development and Education”.

Zheng Fuzhi, assistant minister of the MoE, Tian Huisheng, formal president of the CNAES, Lu Mei, counselor of the International Economic Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Tao Hongjian, deputy director of the International Department of the MoE attended the conference. Zheng Fuzhi presented 3 initiatives: first, establish a new mechanism for cooperative research to normalize exchanges and cooperation among educational think tanks. Second, build a new model for resource sharing to promote coordinated and rapid development of education across countries and achieve win-win cooperation. Third, expand new platforms for educational exchanges to inspire innovative ideas and advance development. Tian Huisheng highlighted that education is an important engine for promoting the construction of the B&R. He advocated to actively build the B&R education research network of academic exchanges, collaborative research and resource sharing, creating a new pattern of high-level and multi-tiered exchanges and cooperation. These efforts would build a community of B&R education research. Conference representatives discussed and reached a consensus on jointly undertaking B&R research projects.
